Ok Let Me Have It...

OK OK I know. I have bashed facebook left right and center. I thought it was ONLY used to reconnect with high school pals, which I am not really interested in doing. But I have now seen the good side.

I had lost touch with a very good friend. She was my matron of honour at my wedding. We didn't even lose touch for any good reason. Could it be my hatred towards talking on the phone?? But Colin found her and her husband on facebook and we've reconnected over dinner, and we got to introduce Nathan and re-meet her children. That's awesome!

And I have a cousin in Germany and one in the States (sorry Julie I don't remember which state you moved to....) whom I'd like to "talk" to more often. I've only met them a handful of times, but we just "click". They're new moms too.

And it just seems like so many people use it as their email now. And photo storage. I read blogs to get updates and it says "See facebook for my photos".

I am not going to use it to become "friends" with everyone I've met in my entire life. I am not going to use it to make empty "we should get together for coffee" invitations.

I don't have hours on end to spend at the computer, so I don't know if I will even be able to maintain it. We'll see.

Man, I don't think I'm ever going to hear the end of all the scrutiny I'm going to get for joining.....

Frozen White Stuff

There are so many things I don't like about living on a hill.
- there's a retaining wall in my backyard that I'm sure Nathan will fall off of at least ten times
- playing sports other than "skeleton" and luge are impossible on our street
- in icy weather you pray that your brakes will work by the time you get to the intersection at the bottom of the street

The list goes on.

But on days like this, I love being on a hill! I can see beautiful snowy scenery as far as the clouds will let me look.

This photo doesn't show the whole view, as it was taken from the front door. Our living room has a better view.

After Nate's breakfast at 6:30, I put him back to bed and went outside to shovel! It's almost a novelty around here, not a chore. I did get lazy though, if you take a closer look at the photo. I only shoveled 3 lines (they're almost all "snowed over" already). Two lines for Colin's truck tires, and one line for my tenant to walk to her car. I don't think she's going to work today though. Oh well, I'm not going to be able to make it to my Aqua Fit class today, so at least I got to attend a "Frozen" Aqua Fit class in my own driveway.

Keep safe everyone!

It's About Time

Happy Belated New Year! Colin signed us up for high speed internet last night. Not high speed lite, but REAL high speed! I am now able to upload photos to my blog! YEAH! So here is a small collection of my favourite photos lately. Of course they're all of my cute little boy...Stay tuned, I'll most likely play with my blog more now that it doesn't frustrate me!

Mommy and Nathan hang out in our hotel room at Sun Peaks in December.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Sometimes Nate's diapers are REALLY stinky.

Nathan's "puppy dog" eyes make me melt!

All ready to go swimming for Nate's first time last Saturday! He loved it!
