It's That Time of Year Again!

YAY! Junk week in PoMo! It snuck up on me, probably because "spring cleaning" can't possibly come when the weather dial is still stuck on winter.

But sun or not, it's here! I went to a garage sale this morning in PoMo. As I drove down the first street in PoMo I saw......A HEAP OF JUNK!!! I could barely wait to get home to tell Colin to jump in the car.

We've done really well in the past. As the house gets fuller and fuller, we get more and more picky on what com
es home with us. Plus, Nate's carseat doesn't fit in the truck too well, so we can only get things that can fit in the trunk of the car.

The shovel was hard to squish in.

Nathan enjoyed his first time junking.

He got some "old school" toys like mommy and daddy had as kids, like the apple chime.

Remember that?

And the push toy that pops balls when the wheels move?

Fun retro toys!

We didn't get too much interesting stuff, just garden edging, garden tools, and some massive citronella candles. Got some of them last year too which we used on camping trips.

But there's still 3 more nights.

....and Found

Now that I'm caught up to LOST (by watching an embarrassing 3.5 seasons in one month), I feel like I can blog again.

Not that it was restricting me from blogging though. I just don't seem to know what to write about anymore. I don't even know what to write about now...

Let's start with Nate! A very good place to start.

He drinks bottles ALL BY HIMSELF now. Mr. Independence! And that's what he's doing right now. Soon he'll start crying because it's finished. "MOMMY I want MOOOOORE!". He sits up and plays all by himself too!

And he LOVES the outdoors! I can drag the playpen (oops, lets be politically correct here...playYARD) outside on the deck and I can garden while he plays and laughs at me. I'd have a photo but some moments you are enjoying too much to bother running to grab a camera. We took him for a walk today down a trail and he burst out laughing once we left the concrete.

(Oh, the cry just came...."MOMMY I want MOOOORE!")

I am enjoying being a mom more than ever. Some people are fans of the newborn stage, but honestly, that's not me. Of course there were plenty great moments, but I think I'll adopt my next one at 6 months. For the first months of his life I couldn't help but think "I can't WAIT until he's 3 months, then his colic will be gone". Then at 3 months I thought, "I can't WAIT until he's 4 months..." etc etc.

But once he got to 6 months, everything just seemed to get better and now I want to hang on to every day!

So, what have we been up to?

Colin's spending a lot of time with his other wife, Mrs. Bowrider, trying to get her seaworthy for a spring/summer of filling my freezer with salmon! He just sold his other motorboat, "Colin's Carnage Cruiser". When it drove away I found a tear in my eye. There are great memories associated with that boat!

I've been rekindling my love for quilting. I made one large quilt for Nathan and then 5 smaller ones for him and his friends. I've also been enjoying spending time with my friends on mat leave. One day, 5 of us got together and had a wonderful time having breakfast! There were babies EVERYWHERE! Since then, one of them had her baby! Another cute little boy! And another friend had a girl! We are repopulating the earth.

As for my dental problems... they're not over. But I really don't even want to talk about it anymore. Just give me dentures and get it over with.

My sister is getting married in May (on an unknown date), and she had her engagement dinner on March 8 @ 5:30. When we showed up at the private room in a swanky restaurant downtown, she handed us her wedding invitation. What was the date on the invitation? MARCH 8 @ 5:30!! It was a SURPRISE WEDDING!!!!!! What an excellent idea for her, it suits her. It was such a great time!

I guess that about catches me up.
